Overview
Doggie, Doggie, Where’s Your Bone is a classic game we all probably grew up with. The original game works best with younger kids, but there is a variation that allows older kids to enjoy this game as well.
Objective
To Figure out who has the "Bone".
Rules
For this game you will need to select one player to be “it” or the Doggie. That player will sit at the front of the room with their back facing all the other players. A small item is placed under the chair of Doggie, this is now called “The Bone”.
The teacher will secretly choose one of the other players to quietly sneak up on The Doggie and take his Bone. This player returns to their seat and hides the bone behind their back. All other players will now pretend to have The Bone behind their backs.
The Doggie can now turn around and has 3 guesses as to who has his bone. Continue playing with a new Doggie and a new secret player.
A fun version with older kids involved all the players standing in a circle around the Doggie (may just want to call it a dog if your group is mostly older). A bone of some type is given to one of the players in the circle and that player places the bone behind their back. All other players in the circle should have their hands behind their backs as well.
When the game begins, the person with the bone passes the bone to one of the players on either side of her. The bone can now move in either direction as many times as players want. All players in the circle should pretend to be getting and moving the bone behind their backs so as to confuse the dog. After about 5 seconds of movement, the dog will have 3 guesses to try and find his bone.
