same for me

Overview

Same for me is a twist on an old game called “Never Have I Ever” where players must switch seats to avoid becoming “It”. This is a low/medium energy game with spurts of activity.

Objective

Have fun and get to know each other.

Rules

For this game you will need to arrange chairs in a circle around the room.  There should be one less chair than players.  The player without a chair is “It” and must stand in the middle.

When the game begins “It” will call out something about themselves.  Some examples could be:

“I like Tacos.”

“I have a pet cat.”

“I hate tomatoes.”

“I have a sister.”

Etc.  If the same is true for any of the players sitting in the chairs, those players must get up and exchange places with someone else.  If the statement is not the same then players remain in their seats.

Players may not return to the seat they just left.  It will also be trying to find an empty seat and sit in it.  The player who does not get a seat is the new “It” and stands in the middle and makes a statement.

If children do not want to make a statement but did not get a seat, simply ask the class if anyone would like to trade and become “It”.  Never force a child to speak in front of others if they are too shy to do so.
